What We Do
Three services,
clearly defined.
Each package addresses a distinct stage of a classical interior project. They can be engaged separately or in sequence — whichever fits where you are.
← Back to HomeOur Approach
A methodology built around the classical interior
Norova works with three traditions — Peranakan, British colonial, and the broader Western classical canon — and reads each as a design language with its own grammar of proportion, material, and ornament. We do not apply them as surface references. We understand their internal logic and use that understanding to make better decisions at the detailed level — in joinery profiles, in the choice of fabric weight, in the relationship between ceiling height and cornice depth.
Each service package is designed to be complete in itself. Clients may engage one or all three, in any order. The brief package is often the starting point; the documentation and sourcing packages follow as the project progresses. All work is scoped in writing before it begins.
Step 01
Set Direction
Concept Brief — written direction and spatial layout before any contractor is engaged.
Step 02
Document in Full
Full Documentation — joinery drawings, finish schedules, and 3D views for construction.
Step 03
Source and Procure
Sourcing Liaison — furniture, fabrics, lighting, and restorer coordination through to installation.
Service 01
Classic-Direction Concept Brief
RM 540
A direction-setting engagement for clients drawn to classical interiors — composed proportions, considered ornament, and rooms that hold up to formal use as well as everyday life. Output is a written brief, a visual direction document, and a draft layout. Two consultations are included.
This package is well suited to clients who are still forming their design direction, or who need a clear articulation of the brief before engaging a contractor or joiner. It is also appropriate as a first step before commissioning the full documentation package.
What is included
- Written classical direction brief — approach, references, palette, material mood
- Visual direction document — collated reference material with Norova's commentary
- Draft room layout — furniture placement and spatial organisation
- Two consultations — initial and review, before brief is finalised
Timeline
Three to four weeks from first consultation to final document delivery.
Service 02
Detailed Classic-Style Documentation
RM 3,550
Full documentation for a classical direction: layout, joinery, mouldings, lighting, finishes, and 3D views. Particular attention is given to ceiling and trim detailing, joinery profiles, and the choice of fabrics. The package is prepared with a careful joiner in mind and includes a short note on care of traditional materials.
This is the right service when the design direction is already established and the project is moving toward construction. The documentation is structured to allow a local builder or joiner to price and build from it without requiring further design input to interpret the drawings.
What is included
- Layout drawings — floor plans and furniture placement for all included rooms
- Joinery elevations — with profile notes, material call-outs, and hardware references
- Ceiling and cornice sections — with depth ratios and trim profiles
- Finish and fabric schedule — materials, colours, and supplier references
- 3D perspective views — of key rooms and architectural features
- Materials care note — plain-language guidance on maintaining traditional finishes
Timeline
Eight to twelve weeks, depending on the number of rooms and scope of joinery work.
Service 03
Sourcing and Procurement Liaison
RM 1,890
Sourcing of furniture, fabrics, and lighting in two budget bands, with attention to suppliers carrying considered classical pieces. Includes liaison with restorers where existing items are kept, and an installation-day visit. Suitable for clients who view the project as a long-term composition rather than a single event.
We source across the Klang Valley and Penang, maintaining active relationships with antique dealers, restorers, and fabric houses. Clients receive a plain-language summary of what is being purchased, from whom, and at what price in each band — so that decisions are fully informed.
What is included
- Sourcing in two budget bands — options at each level for client selection
- Furniture, fabrics, and lighting — from vetted suppliers with classical focus
- Restorer liaison — for existing pieces to be repaired, refinished, or reupholstered
- Supplier summary — plain-language note on each item sourced
- Installation-day visit — presence on site to oversee placement and arrangement
Timeline
Open-ended by nature; typically two to four months from first sourcing round to installation visit.
